Summer in the City: The Jazz Age’s Lasting Legacy: Public Places and Spaces in the Modern Metropolis Video Event

About the Program:
From Rockefeller Center to Parkchester, architectural historian Matt Postal examines the development and design of New York City's grandest public spaces.
Focusing on parks, plazas and promenades, this richly illustrated presentation highlights Art Deco's lasting impact on the all-important public realm. Architectural highlights include the Promenade and Plaza at Rockefeller Center, Works Progress Administration parks and pools, the grounds of the New York World's Fair, and the Orchard Beach Bath House & Promenade, frequently referred to as the Bronx Riviera.
This recorded Video Event includes the original PowerPoint––with wonderful images that you will be able to see directly on your computer screen, tablet, or mobile device.
