About the Program
The Shubert Archive is the repository for the business and artistic records of the Shubert Brothers and the theatrical company that they founded at the turn of the twentieth century. A project of The Shubert Foundation, the Archive’s function is to preserve, promote, and make available for study, Shubert’s legacy.
Materials within the collection include costume and set designs, architectural plans, music, business records, correspondence and press materials.

About the Guides:
Mark Swartz, Director of the Archive, has a PhD in Performance Studies and is the author of Oz Before the Rainbow. He has a well-honed knowledge of the collection having been at the Archive since its early days. His special interests include theatrical history, film history, popular culture, and architectural design.
Sylvia Wang, Archivist, has been at the Archive for many years as well. She has a background in Anthropology and Performance Studies together with an interest in film, books, and classical piano.
Arielle Dorlester, Associate Archivist, is bringing us into the digital age, with a background in Art History and Library Sciences as well as sharpened interests in art, design, and popular culture.
