Worshiping Deco: An Inside Look at New York's Art Deco Churches and Synagogues Video Event
About the Program:
Architectural historian Matt Postal will give us an insider look at many New York City houses of worship constructed in the Art Deco style during the late 1920s and 1930s as he examines the impact of machine-age aesthetics on these new houses of worship and their richly-decorated interiors. He will also highlight the prolific career of architect Henry V. Murphy, who designed more than fifty religious buildings for the Brooklyn Diocese.
