Downtown Brooklyn Walking Tour

About the Program

Join ADSNY and architectural historian Matt Postal for a delightful, spring walking tour to explore Brooklyn beyond the brownstones.

Many Brooklyn neighborhoods flourished during the 1920s and 30s and this special tour will give attendees a chance to see examples of some of Brooklyn’s best Art Deco, which can be found in Downtown Brooklyn.

Downtown Brooklyn boasts a surprising number of Jazz Age delights. Our meandering route, which concludes in the vicinity of Borough Hall, includes a varied (and often overlooked) group of skyscrapers and small retail buildings, including striking structures that were once associated with Brooklyn Law School, New York Telephone, and Abraham & Straus.

About the Guide:
Our guide, Matt Postal, is an architectural historian, specializing in 20th century architecture and the co-author of The Guide to NYC Landmarks.
