Art Deco in the New York Public Library Archives

About the Event:
Join the staff of the Wallach Division at the New York Public Library for a special invitational evening created for ADSNY's Golden Circle members and Donors. On display in this unique access into the rich archives of the NYPL will be a variety of works, including artist portfolios, pochoir prints, book bindings, and decorative papers from the 1920s and 1930s.
Representative examples to enjoy are notable pieces such as book bindings crafted by Pierre Legrain, the vibrant textile designs of Gaston Charlet and Edouard Benedictus, the exquisite pochoir prints of insects and flora by artist E.A. Séguy and more.
This showcase draws from the rich collections of the Wallach Division, encompassing five divisions – Art, Prints & Spencer, Photography, and the Picture Collection. This is a truly a one time event not to be missed!
