About the Event:

It was the Roaring Twenties, and much of the clamor emanated from the Algonquin Round Table, in residence at the famed hotel’s Rose Room. Comprising the likes of Robert Benchley, George S. Kaufman, Alexander Woollcott, Edna Ferber, and, of course Dorothy Parker, the Vicious Circle, as they referred to themselves, met for lunch almost daily for nearly a decade. Sadly, the Round Table no longer exists, and the Rose Room is now part of the lobby’s Blue Bar, but the aura of those lit-wits is eternal.

Join the celebration when renowned cabaret performer KT Sullivan salutes Dorothy Parker’s 130th birthday in the Blue Bar at New York’s Algonquin Hotel. Joining Sullivan will be that Crown Prince of NY Cabaret Steve Ross, as well as Alexis Cole, Eric Yves Garcia, and Bill Zeffiro, offering up songs of the era. Thankfully, there is no need to endure bathtub gin.

There is no payment to the Art Deco Society of New York, but The Blue Bar requires a $50 food/drink minimum per person. Reservations with ADSNY are a must, however, and we will be seated together. But please don’t hesitate, as space is limited. Plan to arrive by 6:30 or we may not be able to hold seats for the performance that begins at 7 PM. The Blue Bar is located in the Algonquin lobby.
