About the Program:
Our Telling the Art Deco Stories of our Neighborhood's online series continues so now you can virtually visit New York's wonderful Art Deco enclaves with the Art Deco Society of New York––from anywhere.
On this virtual tour from Canal to Christopher Street in Manhattan, we'll discover Hudson Square, a dynamic tech hub with impressive Art Deco-era loft structures, some with remarkable sculptural reliefs, as well as stylish recent designs that evoke the 1930s.
This early evening exploration by architectural historian Matt Postal also includes some of the loveliest blocks in the West Village, where often overlooked Art Deco apartment buildings and retail structures enliven the nineteenth century streetscape. Highlights include

Even though this tour is online, it will include a live PowerPoint––with wonderful images that you will be able to see directly on your computer screen, tablet, or mobile device––as well as a moderated Q&A session with participants.

Our guide, architectural historian Matt Postal, leads walking tours throughout New York City. Specializing in 19th and 20th century architecture, he teaches graduate courses at the New York School of Interior Design.
