About the Program:
In this recorded video presentation——which you can enjoy from the comfort of your own home at a time that best fits your schedule——you will explore the stylish west side neighborhood tucked between Greenwich Village and the Garment Center, with a varied and often overlooked collection of Art Deco gems, including memorable structures from the late 1920s and 1930s that were built as commercial lofts, residences, schools, warehouses, and even a women’s prison.
Architectural historian Matt Postal’s engaging illustrated talk traces the area’s history and development, highlighting jazz age designs by such noted figures as Emery Roth and Horace Ginsbern, as well as a few recent preservation success stories.
This recorded video event includes the original PowerPoint——with wonderful images that you will be able to see directly on your computer screen, tablet, or mobile device.
