This Deco On DemandTM package of seven web-based illustrated talks, inspired by our Telling the Art Deco Stories of Our Neighborhoods program, is a unique and engaging way for the Deco enthusiast in your life to explore some of New York's delightful, yet lesser-known, Art Deco enclaves in Manhattan and beyond.

The best part of this thoughtful gift is that your recipient can watch these video On Demand events at any time, from anywhere. They won't have to watch the entire series—which contains over ten hours of delightful Deco content—all at once, as their access link and password will allow your recipient to start and stop the series whenever they'd like! This special package also gives them the opportunity to watch and re-watch these engaging programs as often as they want through January 30, 2023.

Program 1Telling the Art Deco Story of Bay Ridge

Located in southwest Brooklyn, overlooking the Narrows, our online tour route highlights some of the borough's least-known, yet exquisite, Art Deco designs. Highlights include a memorable collection of residential and commercial confections, such as Grately Hall, Harbor Hall, the Marine View Apartments, the former Lincoln Savings Bank, and so much more!

Program 2Telling the Art Deco Story of Brighton Beach

This visually enchanting tour takes your gift recipient on a virtual visit to the intriguing interwar past of this beachy and culturally diverse neighborhood on the Coney Island peninsula and illustrates why it is one of the city’s TOP destinations for Art Deco explorers.

As we "stroll" through this Art Deco mecca with architectural historian Matt Postal, your gift recipient will discover magnificent residential and commercial buildings that exemplify the modern architectural vocabulary that we now know as Art Deco. Program 3Telling the Art Deco Story of The Grand Concourse, Part One

Architectural historian Anthony W. Robins, leads your gift recipient on a tour of the superb interwar architectural treasures of the Grand Concourse—The Bronx's famed Art Deco thoroughfare! 

This virtual walk up the southern end of the Concourse focuses on the area's marvelous apartment buildings and their richly designed Art Deco lobbies.

As a special treat, this “visit” to the Bronx also includes an interview with one of the Concourse's prominent architect's Marvin Fine, who designed not just the Park Plaza Apartments but also many of the Grand Concourse wonders, including the Fish Building! Thanks to an interview with our tour guide taped over 40 years ago, we get to hear Fine talk about his Art Deco designs.

Program 4–Telling the Art Deco Story of The Grand Concourse, Part Two

This web-based tour continues our winding "walk" up the gently curving path of the Grand Concourse towards its northern edge. In this Video Event, your recipient will visit more of the area's remarkable Art Deco apartment buildings, as well as Deco beyond the residential.

This online tour showcases the Art Deco treasures of Inwood and highlights how this neighborhood, perched atop Manhattan’s northern tip, boasts an unexpectedly large concentration of Art Deco gems.

In this web-based tour, architectural historian, Matt Postal, leads your gift recipient through the Art Deco architecture and design that makes this community so special.

Program 7Telling the Art Deco Story of Washington Heights

During this online tour, lead by architectural historian Anthony W. Robins, your fortunate recipient will visit this Manhattan neighborhood that boasts designs by many of the same esteemed architects who built the gems along the Grand Concourse.

They'll also see two taller apartment buildings by Boak & Paris, which offer a more idiosyncratic take on the modernism of the 1930s. This On Demand video event includes a one-story taxpayer, and one of the city’s few frankly Deco subway entrances. But the star attraction will be the Fourth Church of Christ, Scientist (now the Hebrew Tabernacle of Washington Heights), one of perhaps a dozen or so Art Deco houses of worship anywhere in the city!

  • When prompted, select the date you would like your gift to be emailed to the recipient from the ADSNY Team
  • Continue with the registration as directed
  • Once you have completed the registration, you will receive an email confirmation from artdecosocietyofnewyork@wildapricot.org
  • A member of the ADSNY team will contact you directly, within 72 hours, to confirm that the information we received regarding the gift is correct
  • On the date that you indicated you'd like the recipient to receive the gift, ADSNY will email a festive card to the individual letting them know that their exciting gift has come from you
