About the Program:

Join ADSNY as we continue our Art Deco 101 series of online illustrated talks that give an in-depth look at Art Deco architecture and design.

In this online presentation, educator and Art Deco expert, Kathleen Murphy Skolnik, explores how European Art Deco design captured the imagination of Americans with a taste for modernity by the late 1920s.

Sign up today to enjoy wonderful images and details of how:

  • American-born designers and European emigres living in the U.S. embraced this new aesthetic
  • Art Deco began to affect just about every aspect of American design
  • Furniture, metalwork, lighting, and textile design in the United States were impacted by the new, modern Art Deco aesthetic

Get your ticket to join ADSNY and Skolnik for this online illustrated talk that gives an insightful and entertaining look into the origins of American Art Deco decorative arts and design.

Even though this illustrated talk is online, it will include a live PowerPoint—with wonderful images that you will be able to see directly on your computer screen, tablet, or mobile device—as well as a live Q&A session with participants.

If you'd like to check out the first event in this series before tuning in to this installment, you're in luck! Click here to learn more about how you can enjoy the full recording of Art Deco 101: The Origins.

When you sign up for the program you have the opportunity to watch, or rewatch, the recording at a time more convenient for your schedule.
